The Australian Opals continue their FIBA Women's Asia Cup campaign against South Korea on Saturday night at Shenzhen Sports Center.
The Opals advanced to the semi-finals automatically after finishing top of Group B, with a 76-point win over the Philippines, followed by a 79-point win over Lebanon, closing out the group stage with a 12-point comeback win over Japan.
Meanwhile, South Korea booked their spot in the semis with a 104-71 win over the Philippines in the qualification round after they finished second in Group A.
The Opals have been led by four players averaging in double figures, with Sara Blicavs putting up 13.7 points per game, Stephanie Reid's 11.3 points, and Alex Fowler and Maria Sowah with 11 points per game each.
Australia is in search of its first-ever gold medal at the FIBA Women's Asia Cup after finishing with bronze in the last three tournaments, with their lone silver medal coming in 2017 — their first year in the competition.
A gold medal in China will see the Opals directly qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup in Germany, while the next five highest-placed teams will advance to the World Cup Qualifying Tournaments in March, 2026.
