The Australian Boomers have booked their spot in the FIBA Asia Cup quarter-finals, thanks to a 110-82 victory over Qatar at King Abdullah Sports City.
After taking a 46-43 lead into the half, the Boomers seized momentum in the third quarter, with Jaylin Galloway scoring nine of their first 10 points in the period to extend their lead to double figures at 56-44, before Reyne Smith got going from 3, draining two of his four triples for the game in the third.
Galloway led five Boomers in double-figure scoring with a game-high 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting, adding three rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Smith added 15 points on 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Will Hickey chipped in with 15 points, five rebounds, and eight assists, while captain Will Magnay finished with 11 points and two blocks, and Jack McVeigh 10 points.
The Boomers will now await the result of the Qualification matchup between hosts Saudi Arabia and the Philippines on Monday to determine their opponents in the quarters, which start on Wednesday.

The FIBA Men's Asia Cup will begin on Tuesday, August 5, and conclude with the championship game on Sunday, August 17.
The Boomers have been drawn in Group A alongside South Korea, Lebanon, and Qatar.
