The Australian Opals continued their strong start at the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2025, following their 76-point opening win over the Philippines, with a big win over Lebanon at Shenzhen Sports Center.

The Opals led from start to finish, cruising to a 113-34 win, to move to a 2-0 record and sit firmly at the top of Group B, with a +155 point differential through two games.

Eight Opals scored in double figures, led by 15 points from Isabelle Bourne, while Stephanie Reid and Abbey Ellis added 14 points apiece.

Chloe Bibby recorded her second-straight double-double of the tournament with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Courtney Woods filled it up across the board with 11 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.

"I'm really pleased with our focus in both the last game and today's game," Opals head coach Paul Goriss said. "From a defensive standpoint, I think we're growing by leaps and bounds."

As was the case in their opener, the Aussies raced out to another quick lead, reeling off a 19-2 run to open the contest and they never looked back, as their suffocating defense held Lebanon to just 12-of-57 (21.1. percent) shooting from the field and 4-of-20 (20 percent) from the 3-point line.

"What I'm most pleased about is us having 39 assists," Gorriss added. "And the rebounding count is something that we really wanted to focus on today."

The Opals will now face 2023 Asia Cup runners-up Japan in their group stage finale, with top spot in Group B up for grabs for the winner.

That matchup is set to tip off at 6:30 p.m. AEST on Tuesday, July 15.
