Alex de Minaur has firmly established himself as a top 10 player in the world.

As the men's world No. 8, 'The Demon' is comfortably Australia's top-ranked tennis player.

While a grand slam triumph awaits the 26-year-old, his consistency on tour makes him a feared opponent, no matter the tournament.

Overnight, de Minaur secured a third round win at the Italian Open, defeating Hugo Dellien 6-4 6-4.

That result saw him become the only player on the ATP Tour to reach the round of 16 at all five Masters events this season.

Masters is the most prestigious tournament level on the tennis calendar, with 1000 rankings points on offer for the champion,

De Minaur has thrived against the top players in 2025.

He made the round of 16 at the Indian Wells and Miami events before making a semi-final run in Monte-Carlo.

The Aussie reached the final 16 again in Madrid just weeks ago.

Masters events in Montreal, Cincinnati, Shanghai and Paris are still to come this season.

De Minaur is still searching for his first ATP title of the year, but his consistency puts him in good stead ahead of the French Open.

The main draw at Roland-Garros begins on May 26, with the Italian Open his last event ahead of the season's second grand slam tournament.

'The Demon' will take on Tommy Paul for a quarter-final spot in Rome on Wednesday morning (AEST).
