The Crusaders are set to face off against the Blues on Friday evening at the Apollo Projects Stadium in the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific Semi-Final.
The Crusaders were arguably the best team in the 2025 home-and-away season as they took 11 wins from their 14 games, but only fell short of top spot due to the Chiefs' two Losing Bonus points. Through the season, Rob Penney's side only faced defeat against the Chiefs twice and Moana Pasifika.
In their qualifying final against the Queensland Reds, the Crusaders cruised to a 32-12 win after having taken a 27-point lead before the fourth quarter.
The Blues, who are looking to defend their 2024 Premiership, were the worst team statistically to reach the Qualifying Finals. They only managed to grab six wins and faced eight defeats with the least efficient attack; however, they boast the second-best defence with just 330 points against them.
They were able to grab a rather surprising win against the ladder leaders, the Chiefs, who were expected to be the favourites to win the Super Rugby title.
