The British and Irish Lions have made a winning start to their three-match Test series against the Wallabies, claiming a 27-19 victory at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.
The visitors looked like running away with things early in the second half but the Aussies battled back in the final half hour to add some respectability to the scoreline.
Both sides will come away from the clash believing they have plenty of improvement in them.

Wallabies vs. British and Irish Lions result: Visitors take 1-0 lead after Test
The Lions arrived Down Under last month for the first time in over a decade and quickly went about laying seige to their Aussie opponents during their warm-up matches.
Andy Farrell’s side kicked off proceedings in Perth as they brushed aside the Western Force before also putting scores on the likes of the NSW Waratahs and ACT Brumbies.
Boasting an unbeaten five-match record on tour, the Lions faced the Wallabies for the first time in Queensland knowing they would have to lift to get the better of Joe Schmidt’s outfit.
And lift they did, charging out to a 24-5 lead after Dan Sheehan's try shortly after the break was converted by Finn Russell.
Tries to substitutes Carlo Tizzano and Tate McDermott in the final 20 minutes, joining a spectacular one from Max Jorgensen in the first half, saw the Wallabies register the same number of tries as the visitors, with penalty goals the ultimate difference on the scorecard.
In the opening 40, Sione Tuipulotu and Tom Curry had crossed for the Lions to help set up the victory.
"I thought we started the game very well, our game control was excellent throughout," Lions coach Andy Farrell said post-match.
"Our physicality was really spot on in the first half, obviously in the second half we lacked a little bit of discipline within our own game, not just penalty wise but loose carries, offloads, that slowed the game down for us.
"Plenty to work on for us, which is a good place going into game two."
