It's halfback injury chaos in the NRL, and that will be heavily felt when the New Zealand Warriors face the Penrith Panthers in Magic Round.

Both team's star No. 7s – Shaun Johnson and Nathan Cleary – will be unavailable for the Sunday afternoon clash in Brisbane.

The Sporting News takes a look at how each side will now line up.

Who will replace Shaun Johnson and Nathan Cleary?

Johnson will miss at least two weeks of action with a minor pectoral muscle injury.

This has resulted in a significant reshuffle, with Taine Tuaupiki named at fullback and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad to five-eighth.

Te Maire Martin will line up in the No. 7 jersey as Johnson's direct replacement.

In a massive blow to the Panthers, Cleary will miss at least two months after re-injuring his hamstring in Round 10.

His usual halfback replacement Brad Schneider was also injured on the same night, and is unavailable for selection.

Jarome Luai will officially shift to halfback, with Jack Cole stepping in to partner him in the halves.
