The Women's State of Origin Game 2 is set to take place at Allianz Stadium, after the defending champs, Queensland Maroons, lost Game 1 to the NSW Blues at Suncorp Stadium.

In front of a record crowd at Suncorp Stadium, the Blues defeated a clumsy Maroons team 32–12 in the first of the three-match series on May 1. It was an exciting but ultimately lopsided Women’s State of Origin opener.

A new series record was achieved when 26,022 spectators turned up for the game at Suncorp Stadium ahead of the NRL's Magic Round. The attendance eclipsed the 25,782 fans who attended Game 2 of the series last season.

A new-look Blues team led by coach John Strange showed no signs of nervousness against the 2024 champions on Thursday, leading 14–12 following an exciting first half that included five tries and several swings of momentum.

Queensland has won four (2020, 2021, 2023, 24) since the series was rebranded as the 'State of Origin' in 2018, while NSW has won three (2018, 2019, 2022). The Blues will be hoping that their Game 1 win will help them secure their first title since 2022.
