The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks face off against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons in the opening match of Round 15 in the 2025 NRL season this Thursday.

The home clash against the Warriors was supposed to be a moment for the Sharks to join the top 4 race. However, they were brushed aside in a 40-10 defeat by the Kiwi side, creating a breakaway pack of four teams, without the Sharks.

Cronulla suffered their second straight defeat, which has now put them four points behind in the top 4 race, to the frustration of many fans. A large number of the home supporters at Sharks Park were also seen heading for the exit after the 66th minute.

Meanwhile, the Dragons were demolished 56-6 by the home side Dolphins at the Suncorp Stadium on Queensland Day.

The Dragons' winger Christian Tuipulotu suffered a hamstring injury again on his return and had to leave the field in the first half -- as the visitors were trailing 2-28 at halftime. They never recovered from that and the Dolphins continued punishing them in the second half.
