The Gold Coast Titans have confirmed the immediate departure of recruitment manager Ezra Howe, who is tipped for a move to the expansion-bound Perth Bears.
Since joining the Titans in 2019, Howe has been instrumental in shaping the club’s junior pathways and uncovering fresh talent, while overseeing key player signings across multiple seasons.
His sudden exit marks a significant shift behind the scenes as the Titans prepare for the 2027 season and beyond.

Howe is understood to be in the frame for a major recruitment role with the Bears, who are preparing to enter the NRL in the coming years and will be active once the player market opens on November 1.
A former Junior Kiwis coach and assistant to the New Zealand national side, Howe’s long-standing relationship with Mal Meninga, dating back to their time together at the Raiders, could prove decisive in his next move.
The Titans paid tribute to Howe in a brief statement following his departure:
“Howe will finish up his duties at the Titans effective immediately. The club wishes Ezra and his family all the best for the future and thank him for the significant contribution he has made over a long period of time on the Gold Coast. His replacement will be announced in due course.”
During his tenure, Howe played a central role in developing the Titans’ Elite Development squad and guided the club’s Under-16s and Under-18s talent programs.
