The Wests Tigers are reportedly on the verge of re-signing co-captain Apisai Koroisau to a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of 2028.

The deal comes in the wake of losing promising hooker Tallyn Da Silva to the Parramatta Eels on a long-term deal.

Currently, the dummy half is contracted through to the end of 2026 on a reported $700,000 per season.

The move is a strategic one for the Tigers, coming ahead of November 1, which is the date when several key players become eligible to negotiate with rival clubs for 2026 and beyond.

According to foxsports.com.au, Koroisau is expected to agree to a new two-year extension within the next fortnight.

The extension would secure the veteran Fijian international and former NSW Blues representative through the remainder of his NRL career.

Koroisau is among the most high-profile names in that group, alongside Adam Doueihi and Charlie Staines, who are off-contract at the end of 2025.

By locking in Koroisau early, the Tigers fend off reported interest from both the North Queensland Cowboys and the expansion-bound Perth Bears, who were said to be monitoring his availability closely.

With Koroisau’s future now poised to be secured, the Tigers signal a clear intent to build stability and leadership as they continue their long-term rebuild.
