New recruit Taylan May is set to make his Wests Tigers debut this Sunday at Leichhardt Oval, and his teammates are already buzzing about what he brings to the table, on and off the training paddock.

The powerful centre, who recently joined from Penrith, has wasted no time turning heads within the group.

He bagged a hat-trick in reserve grade last weekend, and will now line up in the top side for the first time in Round 20 against the Gold Coast Titans.

“He’s a beast”: big wraps from Staines and Seyfarth

Winger Charlie Staines didn’t hold back in describing the impact May has already made at training. “He's good. He's just… a beast. He's a big body, he's fast, he's agile; he's got everything,” Staines said.

Forward Alex Seyfarth backed that up, saying: “He's strong, he's powerful and he's quite intimidating too.”

Playmaker Adam Doueihi was equally impressed by the combination of size and skill.

“He’s really sharp on his feet and he's also a big boy,” he said. “I know he got a hat-trick in reserve grade on the weekend, so hopefully we give him some ball in good-ball and see what he can do.”

May’s debut will come as the Tigers return to their spiritual home, and with a tight contest expected, the Leichhardt crowd could prove a key weapon for the hosts.
