New South Wales and Queensland lock horns in Perth for the 130th State of Origin fixture.

The Blues have taken a 1-0 lead in this year's series after their dominant victory at Suncorp Stadium three weeks ago.

They will face a new-look Maroons side after Billy Slater elected to drop his captain and halfback Daly Cherry-Evans after a poor showing in Game 1.

Laurie Daley has made a single alteration to his team after prop Mitch Barnett went down with a season-ending knee injury whilst backing up for the Warriors.

In steps Stefano Utoikamanu onto the bench after Max King was promoted into the starting role.

The series opener got underway courtesy of a Zac Lomax four-pointer which continued the trend of the last two Origin fixtures in which New South Wales drew first blood.

Who will get their state off to the perfect start in Game 2?

State of Origin 2025 Game 2 first try-scorer: Brian To'o crosses the stripe

Brian To'o scored the first try of Game 2 courtesy of a Jarome Luai grubber kick, six-minutes into the contest.

After a stop-start opening to proceedings due to errors from both sides, the Blues found themselves in good field position before a heads up play from the five-eight put them ahead by four points.

Luai received the ball early in the tackle count out the back of an attacking shape tha gave him the time and space to find his left boot.

As the ball dribbled through the Maroons defensive-line, a group of blue jerseys attacked the ball, before the four-time premiership winning Panthers winger cleaned up the loose ball and grounded it in the in-goal.

Zac Lomax converted the try, putting New South Wales up 6-0.
