The Wests Tigers have struck a new deal with Starford To'a, keeping the damaging outside back in Concord until the end of the 2028 season.

Already contracted for 2026, To'a extension locks him in for an additional two years, cementing his place as a key figure in Benji Marshall's backline rebuild.

The 25-year-old Tongan international has been a standout in 2025, scoring nine tries and recording seven try assists across 16 matches.

Since joining from the Newcastle Knights in 2022, To'a has made 59 appearances for the Tigers, bouncing back strongly from an injury-hit 2024 season.

Marshall praised To'a's re-signing, saying the club is excited to see him fulfil his potential in the coming years.

"We are super excited to keep Starford and his family at the club for another two years," Marshall said in a statement released on Friday.

"He is a pleasure to coach and a really good person that we love having at our club."

It's the latest in a series of recruitment wins for the Tigers, the most notable being Adam Doueihi's recent re-signing.

To'a's long-term commitment also quells recent speculation about his future, which began after a cryptic "all rumours" social media post earlier this season.

Fans feared To'a could hit the open market in 2026, with rival clubs likely ready to make big offers for the versatile backline threat. Instead, To'a has opted for stability and loyalty.

"I love being a part of this group and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead," To’a said.

"I’m grateful for the opportunities that Benji has provided me and to now have my future secured at the Tigers."

With his prime years ahead, To'a's extension gives the Tigers another strike weapon as they target a return to finals contention in the coming seasons.
