South Sydney has received a major boost with star fullback Latrell Mitchell confirmed to return for this weekend’s must-win clash as reported by the Courier Mail.
The Rabbitohs have been destroyed by injury this season with the largest toll of any club in the NRL, so Mitchell's return couldn't come at a better time.
Coach Wayne Bennett revealed Mitchell will be a certain starter, barring any last minute setbacks or issues.
Mitchell has has not played since round 17 due to a quad injury and is desperately needed for this weeks showdown against the Gold Coast Titans.

The loser of this weeks clash will be relegated to last on the NRL ladder as both clubs work to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.
Mitchell had originally been listed in the extended squad last week, but the club opted to give him another week to recover fully.

Mitchell's return gives the Rabbitohs a much-needed spark in both attack and leadership after being soundly beaten by Brisbane last round and fielding an inexperienced squad.
The fullback has endured another stop-start season in 2025, but when on the park has remained one of the NRL’s most damaging players.
In 10 appearances this year, Mitchell has notched 10 try assists and 9 line-break assists, and continues to be one of the most dangerous attacking players in the game when healthy.
His return also provides much-needed relief to the club’s playmaking stocks too, with Cody Walker and Jack Wighton both spending time on the sidelines.
Rising fullback Jye Gray has filled in admirably in Mitchell’s absence and may still remain at fullback if the Rabbitohs opt to return Mitchell via the centres.
Latrell has long been known for lifting in big moments, and coach Wayne Bennett will be hoping his return provides the X-factor needed to ignite the team after nine consecutive losses.
