Ryan Papenhuyzen still sidelined as Storm remain cautious with fullback image

Ryan Papenhuyzen will miss another week for Melbourne Storm, with the club opting for caution as the fullback continues to recover from a calf issue.

Papenhuyzen was not named in Craig Bellamy’s side to face the Roosters on Thursday night, with Nick Meaney again set to wear the No.1 jersey.

The Storm are hopeful Papenhuyzen will be fit to return in Round 22. Still, his absence stretches on as Melbourne manage his body carefully heading into the business end of the season.

Munster out, Wishart in at five-eighth

It’s not just Papenhuyzen missing from the line-up. Cameron Munster is also out due to personal reasons, prompting Bellamy to shift Tyran Wishart into the five-eighth role. Jahrome Hughes will steer the side from halfback.

The Storm will also be without Alec MacDonald (ribs), while Tui Kamikamica, Ativalu Lisati and Kane Bradley have all been named on an extended bench. Young forward Siulagi Tuimalatu-Brown joins the reserves list as cover.

Thursday’s clash against the Roosters in Sydney will be a key test for the reshuffled side, with Bellamy relying on his depth to weather a tricky period.
