Luckless Warriors centre Rocco Berry set for another lengthy stint in the casualty ward image

Rocco Berry’s frustrating 2025 campaign has hit yet another roadblock, with the Warriors centre ruled out for up to six weeks after suffering a shoulder injury.

The 23-year-old sustained the setback during last weekend’s 34-14 win over the Wests Tigers, a match that marked just his sixth appearance of the year following a tough run with fitness.

Berry has now been added to an already crowded injury list for the Warriors, joining co-captain Mitchell Barnett and halfback Luke Metcalf, both of whom are sidelined for the remainder of the season.

His absence paves the way for Queensland Origin star Kurt Capewell to shift into the centres for Sunday’s Round 20 clash against the Knights in Newcastle. The 32-year-old has already filled the role four times this season and was rested after each of his previous Origin appearances.

Warriors injury toll grows despite top-four momentum

Berry’s exit is particularly untimely as the Warriors continue their push to solidify a top-four finish, having now held that position unbroken for 13 weeks.

Already without fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (knee), the club will lean again on recent standouts Taine Tuaupiki and Tanah Boyd, who impressed in last week’s bounce-back win.

With 28 points on the ladder, the Warriors sit four clear of the Broncos and Panthers, but depth and resilience will be tested further as the casualty ward continues to grow.
