Canberra Raiders hooker Owen Pattie is earning rave reviews after another exceptional performance.

The 21-year-old was compared to current Queensland hooker Harry Grant and Knights legend Danny Buderus by Levels podcast co-host Justin Horo.

The Raiders phenom was instrumental in the Raiders 26-24 win over the Sydney Roosters including kicking a key 40/20.

Pattie has featured in every game thus far in 2025 coming off the bench to make an impact for the team coming second on the NRL ladder.

“Owen Pattie is a future star. I love everything about him, his style, movements and the way he engages markers.” Horo said.

“He’s got a lot of Harry Grant’s movements in how he engages the opposition. He also has a little bit of Danny Buderus as well.”

The former Eel and Sea Eagle added: “I reckon he has the best kicking game from a nine in a long time. After going back and watching his NSW Cup form, it’s in his bag.”

“He caught Tedesco and Tupou off guard because he hasn’t been on the tip sheet but he will be going forward after that.”

The youngster will have strong competition for his spot next year – Tom Starling recently re-signed until 2027 and Knights hooker Jayden Brailey joining next season.

Canberra have enjoyed a strong first half to the 2025 season sitting second without having taken any of their byes yet.
