The second game of the 2025 State of Origin series is being held in Perth, Western Australia, but that won't stop Cameron Munster from playing on home soil during the must-win match.
Thanks to Puma, the newly-minted Queensland captain will take to the field in a pair of custom boots, featuring a layer of first harvested from Munster's home town of Rockhampton.
The boots also feature the postcode of the Melbourne Storm star's place of origin, as well as a white and maroon colourway and XXXX branding, with the company partially behind the initiative.

With the second game of this year's State of Origin set to be played in the neutral territory of Western Australia, Puma have devised a way to give one of their stars a home-field advantage, creating a unique pair of boots featuring Cameron Munster's literal home soil.

The layer of dirt has been built into the boot just above the cleated outer sole, and is a symbolic gesture that Munster says reminds him of the pride he takes in representing his home state.
"Playing for your state is the highest honour in football," Munster said.
"As a Queenslander there's a special connection to where I come from that you can't describe, you can only feel, and knowing that I'm taking a bit of Rocky with me when I step out against the Blues gives me a real boost.
"Playing interstate is always a challenge, but these boots remind me that no matter where I am, a part of home is always with me.
"It’s a powerful symbol of our community’s support and the pride we share in our roots. When you’re out there wearing your state colours, it already means a lot—but having something physical that connects you to home? That’s next level."
The boots were designed in conjunction with Munster and 3D printed to match his exact specifications, as well as the added extra layer, which they hope will provide inspiration for the five-eighth as he prepares to captain his state for the very first time.
