The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have secured the future of rising forward Harry Hayes, with the 23-year-old inking a new deal that keeps him at Belmore until the end of the 2029 NRL season.

Hayes, who debuted in Round 20 of the 2024 season, has racked up 27 appearances in blue and white and was originally signed through to 2026.

But following an impressive rise, the club has locked him in for a further three years, and General Manager of Football Phil Gould couldn’t be prouder.

“He has now established himself as a genuine first-grader”

“Harry has made great leaps in the last eighteen months,” Gould said in a club statement. “Since making his debut late in 2024, he has now established himself as a genuine first-grader. He has a great work ethic and has the ability to play both in the middle and on an edge, which is a great advantage.”

Gould also highlighted the young forward’s family ties to the club; Hayes is the grandson of former Bulldogs player Merv Hicks, and praised his attitude around the group.

“Harry has Bulldog pedigree through his grandfather Merv, and he consistently shows a Club-first mentality every day when he arrives at Belmore,” he said. “We couldn’t be happier with the extension.”

Hayes’ versatility and growing consistency have made him a valuable piece of the Bulldogs’ pack, and the club sees him as central to its long-term plans.
