Perth Bears 'hit list' revealed image

Set to join the competition in 2027, the Bears are wasting no time planning to hit the player market.

Since the official announcement of the club joining the NRL, there has been speculation and comments about the players the Bears want, regardless of their contract with their current clubs.

With rumours around Cameron Munster and being already in the hunt for Tino Fa’asuamaleaui to make him the highest-paid player in NRL history, who else could be boarding the flight to Perth?

Brent Read on Triple M NRL Daily revealed the players the Bears are going to make offers for when November 1st rolls around.

MORE:

  1. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui - with a clause to get out of his 10 year deal with the Titans, could finish up in Gold Coast after the 2026 season
  2. Cameron McInnes - contracted with the Cronulla Sharks until the end of 2026
  3. Scott Sorensen - contracted with the Penrith Panthers until the end of 2026
  4. Deine Mariner - contracted with the Brisbane Broncos until the end of 2027
  5. Gehamat Shibasaki - contracted with the Brisbane Broncos until the end of 2026
  6. Jayden Campbell - contracted with the Gold Coast Titans until the end of 2026

Brent Read also noted that Jayden Campbell has concerns about the Gold Coast Titans in similar fashion to Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, with both players having conversations with the club about their frustrations.

The list contains players with two more years after this season with their current clubs.

It is worth noting that the Dolphins when they were building their inaugural season bought out contracts of players from other clubs that had multiple years left, including players like Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow when he wanted out of his contract with the Cowboys after the 2022 season.

The Bears from their list have made the impression they will make similar pursuits besides the obvious 2026 free agents.
