The Penrith Panthers, four-time defending NRL premiers, have officially announced a change in their leadership.

Panthers Group CEO Brian Fletcher will retire in early 2026.

Fletcher's planned departure gives the Panthers around six moths to identify and appoint a new leader as the club navigates a difficult 2026 NRL season.

“On behalf of the Panthers Group board, I want to sincerely thank Brian for his tireless service to the Panthers,” said Panthers Group Chairman Peter Graham in a formal statement.

“Brian's leadership over the past 10 years has helped build a successful organisation. We are grateful for everything he has done to position the club for long-term strength.”

Fletcher has spent 15 years in his executive role and has played a pivotal role in the Panthers' dominance throughout the last decade, including their unprecedented run of five consecutive NRL Grand Final appearances.

One of his most significant achievements was the development of the club's Centre of Excellence, which has served as a launchpad for a thriving homegrown talent program.

The Panthers Group oversees not only the Penrith Rugby League Club, but also a range of community and business initiatives. Despite Fletcher's upcoming departure, Matt Cameron will remain CEO of the Panthers Rugby League Club, ensuring continuity in football operations.

The club has confirmed that a formal recruitment process to appoint a new Panthers Group CEO will commence soon.
