NSW trainer's cheeky Origin act revealed after ref warning image

NSW trainer Eddie Farah – brother of former NRL star Robbie Farah – found himself warned by referee Ashley Klein during Wednesday night's State of Origin opener.

While it wasn't immediately clear what the trainer did, Nine's spider cam footage later revealed exactly what happened.

Early in the second half, Queensland were given a scrum feed 10 metres out from their opponents' try-line.

Farah gave the ball to Blues playmaker Mitchell Moses, who threw it away.

The trainer then went and kicked the ball over the dead-ball line.

Klein spotted the act and called Farah over to issue a warning.

"Trainer, if you do that again, you will not come back on the field," the referee said.

Maroons captain Daly Cherry-Evans spotted the cheeky move and pointed towards Farah with a grin on his face.

No penalties were issued.

The Maroons couldn't capitalise on their field position in that instance, with Valentine Holmes collected on the first tackle and taken out of touch.
