As he prepares for a fresh start with the Dolphins next year, Selwyn Cobbo has reignited speculation about a potential Broncos comeback, hinting that a return to his former club may still be in the cards.
The former Maroons winger and centre has experienced a turbulent 2025 season under new Broncos coach Michael Maguire, with his place in the starting lineup fluctuating and periods spent competing in the Queensland Cup.
The 23-year-old was recently recalled to the starting lineup for their emphatic 60-14 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 22.
Set to join the Dolphins on a one-year deal, Cobbo faces a tough challenge to break into a settled backline that already includes marquee players such as Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Jamayne Isaako, Jack Bostock, Jake Averillo and Herbie Farnworth.

Speaking to AAP after the win, Cobbo revealed he hasn’t ruled out a return to the Broncos following his one-year stint with the Dolphins.
"I guess I needed a change," Cobbo said.
"With the salary cap, that's footy. You won't always get the team you always want to get.
"I will do one year at the Dolphins and who knows what happens, I could be back here in a couple of years. Right now, I just want to stay in this jersey and play consistent footy.
"I am excited for the journey for next year, but my head is here at the Broncos for this year and I want to try and get the trophy before I head off next year.”
