The sin bin blitz dominated the headlines throughout round eight with a host of big names set for some time out.

Three Bulldogs found themselves on the wrong side of the match review committee, while Latrell Mitchell has yet again landed in some hot water.

Scott Sorensen also got in trouble for a shoulder charge, and the Penrith backrower was unsuccessful in his dispute.

Panthers vs. Sea Eagles: Scott Sorensen unsuccessfully disputes shoulder charge grading

Sorensen was looking at a two-match suspension if he accepted the early guilty plea over a grade two shoulder charge on Manly's Nathan Brown, but will now sit out for three weeks

Sorensen was sent to the sin bin for the shot in what turned out to be another rough outing for the Panthers, who slipped to a 26-10 defeat to leave them rooted to the bottom of the ladder.

Sorensen has submitted a guilty plea but disputed the grading of the charge. His case was heard on Tuesday night but was unsuccessful.

Two other Panthers, Dylan Edwards and Casey McLean, were charged out of the clash but they have escaped with fines, while Siua Taukeiaho was also cited and fined.

Cowboys vs. Titans: Jaimin Jolliffe in hot water over Bateman shot

The Titans' 50-18 loss to the Cowboys has come at even greater cost, with Jaimin Jolliffe copping a two-match ban for a high shot on John Bateman.

Jolliffe caught the Cowboys backrower just before half time and has since been charged with a grade two careless high tackle.

The Gold Coast bench forward risked missing three matches if he unsuccessfully fought the charge, with games against the Bulldogs, Knights and Raiders coming up.

Griffin Neame and Brock Gray also found themselves on the charge sheet following the Saturday evening clash in Townsville.

Storm vs. Rabbitohs: Latrell Mitchell suspended

Latrell Mitchell has been issued with a one-match ban for his shot which left Storm flyer Sua Fa'alogo concussed on Friday night.

The South Sydney star caught a falling Fa'alogo high with a shot early in the second half of Melbourne's 24-16 win at AAMI Park.

Mitchell has been subsequently charged with grade two dangerous contact and will miss one match with an early guilty plea.

Souths play Newcastle during Magic Round which Mitchell will not sit out of.

No other players were suspended following the three Anzac Day matches, although Sandon Smith, Marata Nuikore and Leo Thompson were all fined.

Broncos vs. Bulldogs: Curran, Tupouniua, Burton banned

Sitili Tupouniua will spend several weeks on the sideline after being charged twice by the Match Review Committee.

The enforcer was sent to the bin for a shoulder charge in the first half at Suncorp Stadium, which sees him banned for three weeks with an early guilty plea.

He was also hit with a Grade 2 dangerous contact charge for a lifted knee. That has seen him handed a two-match ban with an early guilty plea.

Josh Curran has also been hit with a sideline stint.

The Bulldogs forward smashed Payne Haas in the face, which was deemed to be a shoulder charge.

Curran did not attempt to wrap his arm in the tackle and was promptly sent to the bin after the Bunker reviewed the contact. He'll miss three games with an early guilty plea.

Star playmaker Matt Burton will also miss the next match after being handed a ban for a high tackle on Billy Walters.

He was not sin-binned for the incident.

Elsewhere, Brisbane back Deine Mariner was sent to the bin for a high shot in the closing stages, but was not charged by the MRC.
