As we approach the halfway point of the season, things are heating up in the NRL in more ways than one.

Catch up on all the Round 14 charges below:

Cowboys duo set for suspension

In what was already a tough night for the North Queensland Cowboys – losing by 24 to the Melbourne Storm – the team is set to lose two key players.

Both John Bateman and Viliami Vailea will miss at least one match, but possibly the next two games, for a pair of incidents that occurred within the opening 10 minutes of the match.

First, Vailea was charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact following a chicken wing tackle against Nelson Asofa-Solomona that left the Melbourne enforcer fuming.

Six minutes later, John Bateman was pinged for a trip on Shawn Blore, and now both Cowboys will miss one game with an early plea, or double that if they unsuccessfully challenge it.
