Leo Thompson cops monster ban

It seems that nothing is going the Newcastle Knights' way this season, and they copped even more bad news in Round 13, a loss to the Dragons compounded by forward Leo Thompson being placed on report for a crusher tackle.

He will now face four weeks away from the team, with an early guilty plea ruling out a potential five-week suspension if he unsuccessfully challenged the decision.

Thompson's hit came against Dragons' lock Hamish Stewart, capping off a 14-point loss that marked their third defeat in four games.
