Canberra fullback Kaeo Weekes has joined an elite NRL quartet in 2025, voted as the Rugby League Players Association (RLPA) Player of the Month for July.
Weekes, who plays his 50th NRL match this weekend against former club Manly, was selected for the award by NRL players ahead of fellow July nominees Blayke Brailey and Harry Grant.
In the midst of a career-best season for Ricky Stuart and the finals bound Raiders, Weekes was a key figure in a flawless July for the Green Machine that steered them to the top of the NRL ladder—with the club now eyeing its first minor premiership since 1990.
July delivered home wins for the Raiders over the Dragons, Eels and Knights, with the 23-year-old fullback’s standout performance coming in Round 18 as Weekes recorded his first career hat-trick and a massive 346 run metres against the Dragons.

Weekes has started at fullback in all 20 games for the Raiders in 2025, his second season with the club having joined from Manly at the end of 2023.
Already signed until 2027, Weekes recently signed an upgraded contract extension that will now see him remain in the nation’s capital until at least 2029.
“It’s really exciting, I want to repay the faith that the club has shown in me,” he said.
“As soon as I got that contract, I signed as quickly as I could—there will be a few good years coming ahead, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
