As if losing after the siren wasn’t bad enough for Adam O’Brien and the Newcastle Knights.
Basking in the glory of their last-gasp NRL victory on Sunday afternoon, New Zealand Warriors fans have twisted the knife even harder with a none-too-subtle online dig.
With the dust barely settled following the Warriors’ dramatic match-winning try, a screenshot started doing the rounds on social media showing a small but unmissable addition had been made to the Newcastle Knights Wikipedia page.
“The Newcastle Knights are an Australian professional rugby league team based in Newcastle, the largest city in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia,” the post began normally enough, followed by a surprising second sentence.

“The club is owned by 19 year old Warriors star Leka Halasima.”
The post of course referred to the rampaging Tongan-born Warriors second rower, who gathered a loose ball following a kick charge down in the dying seconds of the match, running 40 metres to win the game for his side and break Newcastle hearts.
The cheeky edit didn’t last long with the page quickly returned to normal, no doubt by unimpressed Newcastle fans.
