The Manly Sea Eagles are reportedly set to lose veteran forward with a medical retirement looming due to a long-term shoulder injury.

According to foxsports.com.au, Josh Aloiai has battled ongoing shoulder issues throughout the 2025 NRL season, limiting him to just five appearances.

His most recent comeback attempt in Round 13 against the Brisbane Broncos lasted only 21 minutes before he was forced off the field once again.

At 29 years old, Aloiai is currently contracted for another two seasons, with approximately $1 million still owed.

However, his future at the club looks uncertain as Manly prepares to submit the necessary paperwork to the NRL for a medical retirement exemption.

Aloiai has played 164 NRL games across his career with the Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers, serving as a key enforcer in the forward pack.

His premature exit would be a significant setback for the Sea Eagles' forward depth moving forward.
