Latrell Siegwalt is set to swap Brisbane for Redfern at the end of the NRL season, with the highly rated Broncos prospect in advanced talks to join the South Sydney Rabbitohs on a two-year deal.
According to Sport Confidential, Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett is moving quickly to secure the 24-year-old’s signature, with the contract expected to be finalised within the week. If completed, it would see Siegwalt link up with namesake Latrell Mitchell for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
The move comes after Siegwalt spent this season in the Queensland Cup, having been invited to complete a full pre-season with the Broncos’ top squad over the summer. Despite not cracking the NRL 17, his performances at reserve grade level have caught the attention of Souths recruiters.

Rabbitohs scouts impressed by ‘classy touches’
Siegwalt has been quietly carving out a reputation as one of the more versatile young playmakers in the system. After a standout 2024 campaign with the Dolphins, scoring seven tries, setting up 12, and averaging over 100 running metres per game, he joined the Broncos setup under new assistant Ben Te’o, who had coached him at the Dolphins.
Souths are reportedly weighing up offering Siegwalt either a full-time contract or a development deal, impressed by his ability to shift between five-eighth, fullback and utility roles.
While the Broncos had hopes of developing Siegwalt further at Red Hill, it appears another Queensland talent is set to make his mark south of the border.
