South Sydney have received a rare piece of good news amid a punishing run of injuries.
Fan favourite Jye Gray will return at fullback for the Rabbitohs’ Round 21 clash against Cronulla on Saturday night in Gosford.
Gray’s earlier-than-expected comeback is one of several key changes made by coach Wayne Bennett, as the club continues to juggle its squad depth following a brutal month of outs.
The 20-year-old fullback has been sidelined recently but headlines the latest team list, joining another returning stalwart in Alex Johnston, who is back on the wing.

Dodd replaces Humphreys as Bunnies rotate again
Englishman Lewis Dodd has been handed the No.7 jumper, with Jamie Humphreys unavailable due to an 11-day concussion protocol following a head knock against Penrith.
The change adds to the growing list of disruptions Bennett has had to manage in recent weeks.
Sean Keppie also comes into the front row for a fresh start, while Jacob Host, Ryan Gray and Ashton Ward have all been named on the bench. Captain Jack Wighton retains the six jersey as the side searches for stability heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
