'Great promise': Eels reward emerging youngster with a contract extension image

Parramatta have doubled down on their faith in Jordan Samrani, locking in the versatile youngster until the end of the 2027 NRL season.

Samrani’s rise has been anything but conventional. Joining the Eels on a train-and-trial deal, the 21-year-old quickly turned heads in pre-season and trial matches, earning a debut earlier this year.

Since then, he’s notched up nine NRL appearances and has impressed with his adaptability across multiple roles.

Hard work earns long-term reward

The club’s decision to extend Samrani’s stay reflects their belief in his growing influence and his potential to become a mainstay in the side’s long-term plans.

“Jordan has shown great promise since arriving at the club,” the Eels said in a statement. “He’s worked incredibly hard to earn his place and has made the most of every opportunity.”

Samrani’s ability to slot in wherever needed has been a particular asset, with coaches praising his attitude and resilience since joining the squad.

His new deal adds another layer of stability for Parramatta as they continue to invest in homegrown and developing talent, a key theme for the club’s roster build heading into 2025 and beyond.
