Tallyn Da Silva was caught in the crosshairs of a teammate on a warpath last week, as Mitch Moses vented his frustration at him on three separate occasions during Parramatta’s tense 19-18 win over North Queensland.

The mid-season signing tried an ill-advised scoot out of dummy-half during the closing stages and threw some poor passes, leading to some tongue-lashings from his halfback.

The Eels’ captain was visibly annoyed by the hooker’s questionable decision-making and service. And the No.7 was caught on camera multiple times launching into some expletive-laden rants at him while the game continued on around them.

Jason Ryles brushes off ‘not uncommon’ Mitch Moses blow-up

Jason Ryles has brushed off the incidents and stated that the flare-ups are consigned to the past, ahead of Parra’s clash against South Sydney.

"I don’t know if it’s part and parcel, but for us, it was a high-pressure game and it’s not uncommon for those things to happen on the field," Ryles said.

"We dealt with it straight after the game and then again in the review.

"If anything, there have been a lot of really good learnings out of it, so it’s been good for Tallyn and good for Mitch, and we’ve moved on from it pretty quickly."

The coach admitted he sympathised with Da Silva as he recalled how, during his playing days, he had also been on the receiving end of some sprays from his halfbacks in the heat of the moment.

"Braith [Anasta] gave me a few, so did Cooper Cronk and Ben Hornby - you can go down the list," Ryles smiled.

"You look at Mitch as a player, and he’s a competitor. At times, he shows that emotion on the outside. But it all comes from a good place and he wants to win."

The Eels take on the Rabbitohs on Saturday night, hoping to claim back-to-back wins for just the second time this campaign.

The Bunnies finally snapped their nine-game losing streak last weekend with a victory over the Gold Coast.

However, they come up against a revitalised Parra outfit, which has won two out of their three games since Moses’ return from a calf injury.
