The Dragons have locked down one of their most reliable players.

Jacob Liddle has signed a three-year extension with the Red V, keeping him at the club until at least the end of 2028.

The hooker has been one of St George Illawarra's most consistent performers since joining in 2023.

His influence has spiked this season, scoring six tries in 12 appearances despite coming off the bench.

"Jacob has become a really important player for us since joining the club and his form this year has been outstanding," Dragons coach Shane Flanagan said.

"His role has changed a bit this year and he’s been able to transform that into some really dynamic performances coming off the interchange.

"He’s a consistent and reliable player for us whether starting or off the bench and we’re extremely happy to be able to extend his time at the club by another three years."

Liddle spent the first seven seasons of his first-grade career with the Tigers before switching to the Dragons.

He was reportedly eyed by rival clubs before signing a contract extension.

With veteran Damien Cook still preferred in the No. 9 jersey, the Red V were potentially in danger of Liddle departing for a starting role elsewhere.

The 28-year-old will stay put, though.
