Veteran five-eighth Kieran Foran has paid an emotional tribute to Des Hasler, crediting the veteran coach for reshaping his career and helping him become the player - and person - he is today.
Speaking on SEN's The Run Home, Foran didn't hold back in expressing his gratitude for Hasler's unwavering support throughout his turbulent journey in the NRL.
"Des shaped the footballer I am," said Foran.
"There was a time I was written off and many said I didn’t have petrol left in the tank."

The 35-year-old has seen more than his fair share of highs and lows. Once regarded as one of the game's premier halves, injuries and off-field struggles derailed his momentum.
But through it all, Hasler remained a constant voice of belief.
"He’s been the guy that’s backed me," said Foran.
"When I’ve said I have more in me he has believed me."
Now, the New Zealand international will play the final games of his NRL career under his mentor, announcing on Friday that the 2025 season will be his last.
Foran has managed to continue on for many years after others thought he should hang up the boots.
That resilience, in large part, is thanks to Hasler - the coach who looked beyond the injuries and off-field issues, and saw a player and person still worth believing in.
"The awards and accolades that’s great but becoming the best version of yourself is what it’s about."
