Ex-Melbourne Storm and Hawthorn player Shem Tatupu has been charged with attempted murder by police.
The 29-year-old will front the Melbourne Magistrates' Court in August for a committal hearing about the matter.
Tatupu has already been to court for the matter last month after being arrested and charged by Victoria Police.
Details of the incident that brought upon the charges are yet to be made public although it is understood to be a family violence matter.

Tatupu is also facing a separate charge of intentionally causing serious injury, which will see him front Moorabbin Magistrates' Court later this month.
The 197cm athlete is one of few to feature on the senior lists of both an NRL and AFL club - but he didn't manage a senior game for the Storm or Hawks.
Tatupu was recruited as a Category B by Hawthorn at the end of 2013, however after only playing for the club's VFL side Box Hill, he walked away from the sport in March 2016.
Surprisingly, Tatupu then joined Melbourne Storm a short-time later, however that stint was short-lived.
Tatupu returned to Australian Rules after his foray into Rugby League, playing for Frankston's VFL in 2019.
He has been a star in local bayside football leagues across recent times.
