The Dolphins have reportedly set their sights on Warrington Wolves playmaker George Williams as a transfer target to partner with emerging halfback Isaiya Katoa in 2027 and beyond.

All Out Rugby League have reported that Dolphins' coach Kristian Woolf has spearheaded a campaign to recruit Williams to the club.

Williams will remain under contract with Warrington until the end of the 2026 season. Whilst there is no indication that he is seeking to move back to Australia, the Dolphins are understood to be preparing to make a play.

Current five-eighth Kodi Nikorima also comes off-contract at the end of 2026, which would potentially leave a vacancy in the number six jersey.

The 30-year-old Englishman is no stranger to the NRL, having previously had a stint with the Canberra Raiders.

For the Dolphins, luring a player of Williams' pedigree would be a major coup. Pairing him with Katoa would offer the ideal blend of youth and experience, as the 270-game Super League veteran could be a mentor to their breakout half.

Securing Williams' signature would be a signal to the rest of the competition that the Dolphins not only intend to build for the future as a new first grade club, but believe they are serious threats to the premiership.
