Brisbane may have just played the Gold Coast Titans.
But Round 3 of the NRLW sees the Broncos face the competition’s true titans, reigning 2024 champions Sydney Roosters—and despite early injury worries star fullback Tamika Upton is set to start.
With both teams still undefeated after the opening NRLW rounds, the match-up delivers a stern early test for two of the season’s genuine premiership favourites.
Fresh off a State of Origin debut for Queensland in 2025, Brisbane Broncos hooker Jada Ferguson spoke of her excitement for Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash.

“They’re a strong side (Roosters) and one versus two is always a good match up,” Ferguson said.
“They’ll definitely put it to us, they’ve probably been the best side over the last couple of years.
“We’re really excited to see what we can do against them.”
‘I think she’ll be fine’
Ferguson and the Broncos go into the Roosters game brimming with confidence following a thumping 44-4 away win against local Queensland rivals, the Gold Coast Titans last Sunday.
One of the few concerns to come out the Titans match was an early leg injury to representative fullback and captain Tamika Upton, but Ferguson was quick to put fans’ minds as ease.
“I think she’ll be fine, it was only a cork,” Ferguson revealed.
“I’ve just seen her walking too, she’ll be right.”
The outlook isn’t so good for Broncos forward Brianna Clark who looks set to miss the clash after suffering an ankle injury in the Titans game.
Reegan Hicks will also miss the match for Brisbane after accepting a two-game ban for a dangerous lifting tackle on Titans player, Sienna Lofipo.
The Broncos host the Roosters at Totally Workwear Stadium, formerly Langlands Park, on Sunday afternoon.
