Brandon Smith reveals twist in Tino Fa'asuamaleaui sweepstakes image

The NRL is a few months away from one of the most significant dates in the calendar and this off season is expected to be a very busy summer for recruiting players.

This off-season is highly anticipated to be a top heavy free agent list, with players Payne Haas and Harry Grant only having 12 months left on their contract and any team from November 1st being able to talk to players off-contract at the end of the 2026 season.

Speculation has been heavy on the recent DCE conspiracy as to where he will end up and his decision on the future of his career, as well as one player from the Gold Coast Titans.

On The Bye Round Podcast, James Graham and Brandon Smith spoke about the future of Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, being that he has declared he wants to talk to different teams after this season has finished.

Current Rabbitohs forward Brandon Smith said he heard a rumour about where the Titans forward is planning to go.

”I heard a little whisper…I heard something about [Tino going to] Melbourne,” he said.

Smith also suggested that Melbourne could make a big call about Nelson Asofa-Solomona as an avenue for the club to clear cap space.

The Sydney Morning Herald have also reported that the 10 year contract with the Titans  includes salary cap ratchet clauses, which could soon push his value towards $1.5M a season.

It would take a huge rival bid to lure him away.
