Alofiana Khan-Pereira’s blistering season looks set to end in heartbreak, with the Gold Coast winger likely ruled out for the remainder of the year after suffering a hamstring strain.
The injury, sustained ahead of the Titans’ trip to face the Sharks this Saturday, has forced Des Hasler to reshuffle his backline once again.
Khan-Pereira, one of the NRL’s most exciting finishers, leaves a sizeable gap out wide. Young gun Tony Francis has been handed the starting berth on the flank, while Phillip Sami comes back into the centres after recovering from a head knock that sidelined him last week.

Fa’asuamaleaui returns to bolster pack
While the news is grim for Khan-Pereira, the Titans have received a major boost with skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui cleared to return from a three-week layoff with an MCL injury.
The Queensland Origin star will start at lock, allowing Klese Haas to revert to the interchange. He’ll be joined on the bench by Reagan Campbell-Gillard, with Moeaki Fotuaika reuniting with Jaimin Jolliffe in the front row after overcoming illness.
Hasler has also named Keano Kini among the extended squad in what could be the young fullback’s first appearance since neck surgery. Both the NRL and NRLW sides will run out in jerseys designed by local artist Christine Slabb, celebrating themes of connection, community, and belonging.
Kick-off at Sharks Stadium is scheduled for 3 pm, following the women’s match at 12.45 pm.
