Just days after being linked to the St. George Illawarra Dragons, Adam Doueihi has turned on a masterclass to rain on Lachlan Galvin’s parade in a stunning 28-14 NRL upset of the Canterbury Bulldogs in treacherous conditions at CommBank Stadium.
After being shifted into the halves before kick-off by Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall, Doueihi was in everything in a sublime wet weather performance, scoring a try and setting up another for returning Tigers fullback, Jahream Bula.
An inspired four-tries-to-one first half saw the Tigers hit the sheds with a stunning 20-4 lead, followed by an equally character-filled defensive performance in the second half as the rain continued to tumble down.
Despite scoring the first try of the second half and then playing with an extra man for ten minutes when Tigers forward James Seyfarth was sin binned for a shoulder charge, the error-prone Bulldogs looked a shadow of the side that destroyed Manly in Round 21.

“Errors keep leading to tries for the Tigers,” Cooper Cronk said in commentary for Fox Sports, as the Bulldogs continually failed to come to terms with the atrocious conditions and waterlogged playing surface.
Compounding the Bulldogs’ woes on a forgettable afternoon, captain Stephen Crichton was placed on report for a high tackle that saw Tigers centre Taylan May ruled out of the match with a category one HIA.
17,423 fans braved the torrential rain to witness one of the Concord outfit’s best performances of the season—and a day to remember for Adam Doueihi.
The win takes the Tigers to 20 competition points on the NRL ladder, two games clear of the last-placed South Sydney Rabbitohs.
