'We have offered a contract': Benji Marshall reveals Adam Doueihi development image

Benji Marshall has confirmed Wests Tigers have formally offered Adam Doueihi a new contract, ending weeks of speculation around the playmaker's future.

The 26-year-old is set to line up at lock for just the second time this season in Saturday’s clash against the Panthers, but it’s his contract situation, not his versatility, that has dominated the build-up.

With his current deal expiring at the end of 2025, doubts lingered over where he’d land next. But speaking to the media on Friday, Marshall made the club’s intentions clear.

“I don’t say a lot about recruitment publicly to be honest, but what I will say is we have offered him a contract,” the Tigers coach said. “What happens from there, it’s behind the scenes. My part is done but we definitely want to keep him.”

No boxes, no limits

Doueihi has already featured across the backline, the halves, and now in the forward pack, an asset Marshall clearly values. But pressed on whether the Tigers see him as a long-term No.13, the coach didn’t bite.

“I don’t like putting people in boxes to just one position, if you can play all of them, then you can play all of them,” he said. “Adam is just a natural footballer, he can play everywhere.”

Doueihi has previously drawn interest from the Dragons and Panthers. But if the Tigers’ new deal hits the mark, he may not be going anywhere.
