Chiller and Kyrgios engaged in a running battle through the media and social channels over the tennis star's behaviour in the lead-up to Tennis Australia's Oympic selection.
Kyrgios eventually opted of out Rio, citing 'unwarranted attacks from the Australian Olympic Committee, but Chiller has revealed in an interview with that the disagreement had taken its toll on her.
Chiller finished 14th in the modern pentathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and Kyrgios couldn't resist tweeting about the fact after being alerted by a follower.
"Haha she came 14th I don’t think that counts as competing in the olypmics (sic)," Kyrgios tweeted.
Chiller was so angry she sent an email AOC media boss Mike Tancredi saying: "I have had it. Absolutely unacceptable."
"That threw me over the edge. That cut me to the quick. In retrospect, that was an emotional response with me not being happy with 14th (in Sydney) 16 years ago. I’m sure, if I psychoanalysed it, that’s why it affected me, " Chiller told Fairfax.
"It also brought back - and this really annoys me - the times when people say, ‘Who’s she? What’s she done?’ That’s irrelevant. It’s f---ing irrelevant to what I’ve done in this role. It’s a perception of some people that if you’re not a gold medallist or swimmer or rower or track and field runner, you’re no good. Nobody knows my story."
