Australia's Daniel Ricciardo had strong words to say about his team Red Bull - and also his own performance - as he finished in seventh in the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton won the race from Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Williams' Valtteri Bottas, with Ricciardo's teammate Max Verstappen finishing fourth.
Ricciardo was disappointed in what transpired at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and was adamant things must improve before next Sunday's European Grand Prix in Azerbaijan.
"I locked a brake into Turn 13 and damaged the second set of tyres I had, and then a few of the pit stops and calls were a bit average again," Ricciardo said.
"We’ve got to clean some things up for Sunday."
Ricciardo became stuck behind Verstappen early in the race, with the 18-year-old not given instructions to move aside for his more senior teammate.
The time spent behind Verstappen may have affected the state of Ricciardo's tyres.
"I think (it made) a pretty big difference, but obviously it’s done now. No point saying what could’ve been," Ricciardo conceded.
"We were definitely a lot quicker in clean air but we did struggle in traffic today.
"When we were behind someone we couldn’t use the tyres any more, and even with the long DRS we couldn’t get close enough to pass.
"(I) couldn’t really make that next step behind other cars and certainly killed the tyres quite quickly behind (them).
"That was that."
