Australia has progressed to the Davis Cup world group quarter-finals with a clinical 3-0 victory against the Czech Republic in Melbourne

Aussie doubles duo John Peers and Sam Groth finished off the tie by winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 against Jiri Vesaly and Jan Satral on Saturday.

On Friday, Nick Kyrgios and Jordan Thompson had given Australia a 2-0 lead with straight-set victories over Satral and Vesaly respectively.

The dead-rubber reverse singles will be played on Sunday.

Australia will likely face the US in the quarter-finals, who currently hold a 2-0 advantage over Switzerland.
