The San Francisco 49ers have expressed disappointment after fullback Bruce Miller was arrested on charges of spousal battery.
Miller was arrested last Thursday by Santa Clara police, who have now reportedly forwarded the case to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office.
A statement from 49ers general manager Trent Baalke read: "The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Bruce Miller.
"We were disappointed to learn of these reports and will do our due diligence in collecting all relevant information."
Last season the 49ers saw defensive tackle Ray McDonald arrested on domestic violence charges. He was later released by the team in December following allegations of sexual assault.
Domestic violence in the NFL has been in the spotlight since the saga involving running back Ray Rice last year.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was suspended for most of last season following child abuse charges, while Carolina Panthers star Greg Hardy also sat out the campaign, although the charges against him have since been dropped after his accuser, an ex-girlfriend, failed to show up to testify in court.
