WATCH: Canucks' Philip Larsen motionless after hit by Devils' Taylor Hall, stretchered off ice image

Canucks defenseman Philip Larsen was taken off the ice on a stretcher in Tuesday's game against the Devils following a high hit that left him motionless.

In the second period, Larsen was carrying the puck behind the Canucks' net when Devils forward Taylor Hall went in on a forecheck and caught Larsen upside the head with his right shoulder. Larsen dropped straight to the ice and lay on his back, apparently unconscious, while players scuffled around him and medical staff rushed to his aid in a frightening scene at Prudential Center.

The Canucks provided a brief update on Larsen's condition later in the game.

Earlier, in the first period, Devils forward Travis Zajac emerged bloodied, but OK, after falling face first into the boards in another scary scene.
