Pat Surtain II, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, talked to Dianna Russini and Chase Daniels at Denver Broncos training camp and was asked about the most difficult quarterbacks to face in the league.

Surtain, widely considered the best cornerback in the NFL, gave the kind of list you would expect. Most fans and analysts are going to have Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, and Joe Burrow on their list. Surtain did too, though he had to get reminded about Burrow.

But he also included a name that not many people will have right now, but it's a guy he goes against in every practice... Bo Nix.

"The top five is kind of easy for us to spell out, it's always right after that that I struggle a bit", said Russini. That's when Surtain mentioned Nix.

"I'm telling you man, Bo's gonna be a problem, I'm telling you. I ain't gonna say too much cause I know he don't like me to. When he first came in, he was ready, he was sound. Everything about him just screamed veteran QB in a way. I feel like this year, ya know, he's more composed, understands the offense even more, more confident, even more vocal. He's a great leader out there, he brings the offense together. You can just tell he's been working in the offseason. He got a little bigger, little stronger as well... he's gonna be scary", said Surtain.

These comments will likely be shrugged off by many out there. You would expect the team's best player to have his quarterback's back, but Surtain also knows what it takes to be mentioned in the same sentence as the other names on his list, and he seems to see that in the Broncos' second-year quarterback.

While many fans and those in the media feel that Nix could suffer the proverbial sophomore slump this season, there's just as much reason to believe it will be a breakout campaign instead.
