No. 1 Kentucky will be without junior forward Alex Poythress for the rest of the season. Poythress suffered an ACL tear in his left knee Thursday.

The report did not say how Poythress was injured, and the university has not commented on the report. Coach John Calipari will conduct a regularly scheduled meeting with the media Friday afternoon.

Calipari tweeted about his Poythress early Friday morning.

Kentucky guard Aaron Harrison also provided some confirmation with an Instagram post in support of Poythress early Friday.

Poythress averaged 5.5 points and 3.8 assists in eight games for the Wildcats this season.
